A working definition of missions:
doing for others in Jesus' name. Locally, and overseas, Buckner
Baptist
has a long history and involvement in partnering with others to share the
Good News through missions... (Above) Dennis Mangum (L), Danny Adams (R) and Kristi Reeder journeyed to the Dominican Republic in May, 2008. Dennis and Danny installed water purification systems for several villages, while Kristi shared the Good News of the Gospel of Christ with children through coloring books and stories. Their mission trip earned a spot on the Oldham County School website. To read the article click: http://www.oldham.kyschools.us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=325&Itemid=426
Men of our church joined with other churches helping to ready a house in Buckner for living space where inmates can live when released from prison. The goal is to help them move beyond prison to a normal life.
Jesus said, "I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me...Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me---you did it to me."
